Tutankhamen | The Golden King of Egypt

If not, King Tutankhamun, who became the spokesperson of archaeologists, and became one of the most important Egyptian study found in the Luxor Governorate, in Kings and Queens Valleys would never have seen his shiny and treasured tomb.

General information about the Golden King of Egypt:

King Tutankhamen, (1341 B.C - 1323 B.C.), has restored to his father Akhenaten the cult of the god Amun, which is a traditional religion Egypt had followed prior to the revolt. He was the twelfth ruler in the 18th dynasty who is known for prospering in Egypt, returning to the traditional religion of the cultivation of Amun, as well as to his gold collection that was found intact and now exhibited in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo which is a traditional visit during the Egyptian Museum tour from our variety of tours from Cairo.

Tutankhamen was native to Amarna in 1341 B.C and is regarded as the boy pharaoh by historians. He was the twelfth ruler of the 18th dynasty of the New Kingdom, the successor of the Pharaoh Akhenaten, with the name "Tutanchato" meaning "Atin's Living Image" referring to the Aton cult, Ancient Egypt's sunny divinity. Pharaoh Akhenaten, who ordered this one deity to worship rather than the many deities of Ancient Egypt, adored Athon vigorously.

He died as a baby from infancy in 1323 B.C before he was 20 years old, without leaving any successor to the throne of Egypt. Tutankhamen was extremely small. Although he ruled for nine years only because he married Half-Sister Ankshanamon and forced her original name which was Ankhesenpaaton forced, according to the ancient historian Manetho, we know the pharaoh's reign only. He returned to the capital of Egypt in Thebes, now Luxor, from Amarna, the city founded by Akhenaten. His grave was found and funded by the Carnarvon during the expedition led by Howard Carter, an Egyptologist and British archaeologist in 1922.

After five years of excavation in the Valley of the Kings, Carnarvon was about to abandon the search for the pharaoh's tomb, but Carter convinced him to finance even more excavations. Carter opened a crack on the access road to the sepulcher after 22 days from the start of the new investment. The pharaoh's mummy was decorated with amulets and gems and fully packed inside the innermost sarcophagus. The face of Tutankhamen has been hidden by a very precious funeral mask nowadays in the museum's funeral.

It was probably sudden that the young king died, and so for him, there was still no real grave. According to some archaeologists, this led a family to prepare for his funeral at the tomb of Nefertiti and to settle the access routes between the two tombs with secret doors, as some theories claimed, which died 7 years earlier.

Since the unexpected death of a king is occurring in Egypt, the grave destined for him was packed with artifacts that could be useful for him in the afterlife according to traditions. It took seventy days to complete the mummification process. He was not found in a very small tomb in the Valley of the Kings compared to the royal tombs in the Valley or the famous monuments constructed in Giza by its ancestors and visited annually by millions during the tour to Giza Pyramids. His mom was not discovered between these mummies found in El-Dier El-Bahari cachette.
