King Cheops | King Khufu | Owner of the Great Pyramid

In Ancient Egypt, king Khufu is the second king of the fourth dynasty. After his father Senefru's death, he's crowned. It has a single image of ivory found in Abydos, whose name is now in the Egyptian Museum and is on the throne. The Great Pyramid of Giza, the greatest stone building in the world, was constructed during his rule.

Khufu (2609 BC - 2584 BC)

The Khufu, which is nearer to its full name Khanum-Khufwy in the ancient times, meaning 'God Khnum protects me,' is Greek for the Pharoah, adopted by the ancient English individual who could not pronounce the ancient Egyptian name, When the pyramids were made, he became the son of the founder of The fourth dynasty Sneferu and the pinnacle of greatness and perfection which the short successors of the 5th dynasty, King Unas, could not repeat. Khufu's mother is the famous Queen Hetepheres, in a burial shaft next to her son's pyramid in Giza we find her funeral equipment, and today in an Egyptian Museum we can see a lot of this, as well as the Queen's sarcophagus.

King Khufu is believed to have had three wives. He is famous for building the Great Pyramid at Giza that you can explore during the tour to Giza Pyramids, it's considered to be one of the seven wonders of the world and the only wonder still standing till now, but apart from this, we don't know much about him. The only surviving statue for him, ironically, the smallest piece of Egyptian royal sculpture ever discovered: a 7.5 cm (3 inches) high ivory statue found at Abydos.

Traditionally, he was attributed twenty-three years of rule, but many scholars, based on the enormity of its far-reaching construction program, think that he reigned even longer. You can imagine such a big structure so difficultly; it could help you get an idea that you might comfortably contain the entire London parliament and Saint Paul's Cathedral there.

Napoleon Bonaparte was so fascinated by his visit to the Giza Plateau thanks to his ardent admirer, that (thanks to his mathematicians) he could officially declare that there was enough stone in the three pyramids to create a 3-meter-high wall covering all of France.

Of all, the Great Pyramid is the most precise pyramid. It is obvious that the direction for engineers and supervisors had to be very relevant. Nevertheless, we do not know if this particular reaction was realistic in Dahshur and Meidum to the Bent Pyramid, or if the essential requirement for religion was that the funeral chamber should be aligned precisely (and consequently the body of the deceased pharaoh). However, regardless of the cause, there is no question about the ultimate outcome. The sides of the Kheops Pyramid are almost precisely northern oriented, while the later pyrography would have been aligned to the others and the components of the complex of the Great Pyramid, which is an important part of your trip to Egypt, first by its son Chephren and then by his grandson Mycerinus.

In his red granite sarcophagus in Aswan, Cheops had to be buried here for all time. Some Egyptologists think all three of those rooms had been part of the original scheme, however; in particular, the Queen's Chamber would have acted as a space for Serdab, in which the statue of the late Pharaoh would replace his body. The "King's Chamber" was constructed in five rooms to lighten the structure, an invention to disperse the burial chamber's load which would otherwise overpower the burial chamber's ceiling.
